WLD-101 Plate Welding
This course is designed for beginner welders. There are no prerequisites for this course. This program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces. Includes instruction in arc welding, oxyfuel cutting, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, welding metallurgy, welding processes and heat treating, structural design, safety, and applicable codes and standards. Examples: Arc Welding, Wire Welding, Plate Welding, Carbon Steel, Fillet Welds, Groove Welds, Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and overhead positions, Structural Welder, Fabrication Welder, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding. When a student completes this course, they will have the skills needed to obtain employment in a fabrication setting or as a structural welder.
