Kershaw County Adult Education
Kershaw County Adult Education (KCAE) offers several levels of classes to prepare students to enter post-secondary training and educational opportunities as well as direct entry to employment or enlistment into the US Armed Services. Our staff of dedicated professionals teach the essential skills necessary to successfully obtain the High School Equivalency Diploma (commonly referred to as the GED). We also offer the ability to earn a SC High School Diploma through Virtual SC for qualified students. KCAE works with Core Partners to provide access to funding for Integrated Education Training in partnership with Central Carolina Technical College. Through this initiative students can increase their skills and earn certifications in in-demand employment opportunities, such as Manufacturing (OSHA/Forklift), Welding, Nursing and more. Lastly, we are the only provider of the WIN test (Career Readiness Certificate) and WIN instruction in Kershaw County. We serve students who desire to attain the next level of education that will enable them to achieve their career and employment goals.
Webpage Design and Development Beginning and Advanced
FUNDAMENTALS OF WEB PAGE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to design and develop websites. Students will attain skills in designing, implementing, and maintaining websites using authoring tools. OBJECTIVE: Given the necessary equipment, supplies, and facilities, the student will be able to successfully complete all of the following core standards for a course that grants one unit of credit. RECOMMENDED AUDIENCE: Will possess a high interest in information technology. Complete TABE assessment testing and score NRS Level 3+ COURSE CREDIT: 1 Carnegie unit available to out of school persons seeking high school diploma credits ADVANCED WEB PAGE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT COURSE DESCRIPTION: This advanced course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in web design and development. Students will develop skills in advanced HTML and CSS coding, scripting, layout techniques, and other industry-standard practices. In Advanced Web Design and Development, students must be able to edit source code directly rather than using a WYSIWYG editor. OBJECTIVE: Given the necessary equipment, supplies, and facilities, the student will be able to successfully complete all of the following core standards for a course that grants one unit of credit. RECOMMENDED AUDIENCE: Will possess a high interest in information technology. Complete TABE assessment testing and score NRS Level 3+ COURSE CREDIT: 1 Carnegie unit available to out of school persons seeking high school diploma credits. PREREQUISITE: Fundamentals of Web Design and Development. CLASS SCHEDULE: Fundamentals of Web Page Design & Development and Advanced Web Page Design & Development) will be offered twice yearly; once in the Spring and once in the Fall. Courses are 9 weeks in length. Courses are located in the Adult Education Wing of the Woolard Technology Building - 70 Innovation Way, Camden, SC.
