Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) is a public, two-year institution within the South Carolina Technical College System. Phlebotomy Technician - Certificate-CE
This comprehensive program is designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills necessary for drawing blood and preparing specimens for patient lab tests and procedures. Students will learn proper venipuncture and capillary collection techniques, specimen handling, and labeling procedures, along with infection control and safety protocols to ensure patient and practitioner safety. The curriculum also emphasizes professional communication skills, patient rights and confidentiality, and the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in the laboratory setting. Through a blend of informative lectures and hands-on skills training, students will be fully prepared to enter the phlebotomy profession with confidence. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Phlebotomy certification exam.
