Program description:

This program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician. Students will utilize hands-on training system to gain understanding in the process of handling medical and drug records, medical files both soft copy and hard copy. Students will learn basic medical courses including principles and practices of pharmacy technician, pharmacy technician and math, and the capstone comprehensive pharmacy technician. Graduates will be able to create medical records, practice pharmacy technician functions relating to controlled substances, drugs and drug therapy, drug classification including medication order intake and entry, preparing and dispensing prescriptions, and calculation, with engagement in medication safety and quality assurance.
