Chairside Dental Assistant
20 Weeks, Program Clock Hours: 72 Lecture/120 Clinical = 192 Lecture (online): Mondays - 6:00pm – 9:00pm, Lecture (online): Thursdays - 6:00pm – 9:00pm, Clinical Praxis (at clinical location): Friday / Saturdays – 8:00am – 5:00pm. Goals and Objectives: The student, upon successful completion of this course will have reliably demonstrated the ability to: Identify tooth numbers, types, oral anatomy, Operate dental assisting equipment, Sterilize dental equipment and instruments, Utilize proper X-ray techniques and X-ray safety, Use Four-Handed Dental Assisting Techniques, Patient reception and dismissal, Maintain and manage patient records, Managing receivables and payables, Employ correct methods of verifying insurance and processing insurance, Appointment book control and managing recall systems, Communicate effectively using accurate dental terminology, Apply working knowledge of various dental procedures Age, and prepare outstanding account statements claims. The clinical portion of the chairside Dental Assisting course is completed in an actual Dental office. Students will complete a total of 96 clinical hours during a 20-week course. Students are also eligible to complete 3 months of interning. Students will be responsible for setting up their internship with the assistance of CCS team members.
