Florence-Darlington Technical College
Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) is a public, two-year institution within the South Carolina Technical College System. Serving Florence, Darlington, and Marion counties, FDTC offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificate programs designed to prepare students for immediate employment or transfer to four-year institutions. GMAW FLUX-CORE WELDING CWD
This course introduces the Gas Metal Arc (MIG) welding process. The course covers safety, equipment, and skills used in MIG welding. Students will use a MIG welder to perform the basic positions of a lap, tee, v-groove with backing weld to produce steel fillet and groove style joints in various positions. Students will learn to set up MIG welding equipment, select the proper amperage, wire selection, metal preparation, hand-eye coordination and control molten puddle.
