Florence-Darlington Technical College
Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) is a public, two-year institution within the South Carolina Technical College System. Serving Florence, Darlington, and Marion counties, FDTC offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificate programs designed to prepare students for immediate employment or transfer to four-year institutions. STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN CWD
The Sterile Processing Technician course equips students with the knowledge and skills to become competent and safety-conscious Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians (SPDT) in various healthcare settings. Students will learn the principles and procedures for the decontamination, sterilization, preparation, storage, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment. The curriculum includes instruction on operating sterilization units and monitoring sterilization effectiveness. Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on clinical experience, students will be prepared to take the Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician Certification Exam and begin a career in sterile processing.
