Pharmacy Technician
This course provides the student with the skills that are important in assisting the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications. Students will be trained in how to interpret prescription hardcopies, pharmacy calculations, processing a prescription, pharmacy laws, compounding and packaging of medications. This course includes the HIPAA privacy act, medication ordering process, and inventories. Also, students who complete the course and pay the LLR fee can apply to the state for registration. After students’ complete work under a pharmacist’s supervision and have 500 hours of experience then they can sit for the PTCB Certification or 1200 hours for NHA Certification. Clinical sites are available.
