Program description:

In this program, students will obtain the basic skills required for a certified pharmacy technician and be able to go out into the work field and use their knowledge on a job working in a pharmacy. After completing the Pharmacy Technician Training Program, the students will be able to: 1. Understand the role of a pharmacy technician along with responsibilities and how to handle themselves in a work environment by portraying professional and personal ethics. 2. Demonstrate knowledge of handling medication, patient profiling, counting tablets and labeling bottles, reading prescriptions, stocking and keeping inventory of over-the-counter drugs along with other medication that is kept inside of the pharmacy. 3. List all major drug classifications and be able to explain the routes of administration, side effects, and dosing recommendations. 4. Collaborate with pharmacists, associates, and customers on a work-related ethical level.
