Program description:

The Driving Change CDL Class A Training Program is a comprehensive workforce training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level careers in the transportation and logistics industry. The program provides instruction in commercial vehicle operation, vehicle inspection procedures, safety regulations, trip planning, cargo handling, hours-of-service compliance, and defensive driving practices in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements and South Carolina DMV standards. Participants receive classroom instruction, CDL permit preparation, hands-on range training, and behind-the-wheel driving experience to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle. In addition to technical training, students receive employability skills development, career readiness preparation, case management support, and job placement assistance. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are prepared to take the South Carolina CDL skills examination and pursue employment opportunities in local, regional, and over-the-road transportation sectors.
