The Medical Interpretation program teaches students how to provide linguistically and culturally appropriate interpretation skills and effective interpretation services in a variety of settings including the medical, behavioral health, and social services fields. The program not only provides the tools and knowledge to translate words but also relay concepts and ideas between languages. There are a total for four different levels in the program. Each level consists of 20 contact hours. After successful completion of all four levels, students are eligible to take the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters and the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters national certification exams.
